Photos shown online, in our brochures, and physical samples that you receive are representative of the species only. Variation in color, figure and other natural characteristics including but not limited to thickness, translucency, texture, grain pattern, wood knots, amount of grain and color, including within the same specie, can occur. Wood veneer is a natural product and will always exhibit individual features and character marks. Certain species are more opaque than others. Typically, the lighter the wood is, the more translucent it is. Although two species of wood may be cut to the same thickness, one may feel thicker due to the density of the wood specie.
Due to the printers being used, fluctuation in the placement of the artwork will occur when printing on the wood.
All business card orders will have the wood specie name printed on the backside of each card, unless requested otherwise.
Porous woods, such as Ash, Oak, and Walnut do not print as well due to the open grain on the surface of the wood.
Printed inks are not 100% opaque, so the coloring of the wood will show through the printed inks. With our regular printing process, we cannot print a color on the wood that is lighter than the wood specie itself. To do so, would require printing done by foil printing or screen-printing methods. Additional fees will apply for both printing services.
Printing on a dark wood, like Walnut or Koa, the printing may not appear as legible as compared to lighter colored wood specie.
Payment is required at the time of order. Accepted credit cards: Visa, Master Card, American Express & Discover. Your card will be billed when order is placed. We do not accept PayPal because they offer no fraud protection to service based merchants.
After 30 days a late payment charge of 2% per month is applied to all delinquent accounts, without exception and retroactive to the date of invoice. If after 60 days the account remains in default, or if the customer’s payment is charged back to us as a result of credit card fraud, check fraud or other crime, Cards of Wood will issue one final notice before turning the account over to a third-party collections agency. Late fees will continue to accrue on the delinquent account, and you will be responsible for all costs incurred for placing you in collections.
After placing an order online, if you make a request or change to your order that influences the total price, you are responsible to pay for any additional fees to your order. A separate invoice will be provided to you (by email) with the cost difference. Payment of the remaining cost (invoice) must be paid (by credit card) before production of cards. Failure to pay the remaining amount will delay the processing and shipment of the current order. These fees may include but are not limited to: expedited shipping fees, rush production fees, set up fees, premium wood fees, foil printing dies, foil printing fees or bleed artwork fees.
Items ship within 7-10 (business) days*, and after approval of artwork. (*Depending on the size of the order, and availability of the wood specie(s) requested.) The turn around time does not include shipping time, or time during the proofing phase. Specialty print methods, such as foil printing and screen printing are on the high end of this 7-10 business day estimate. Rush printing is available for most orders. Orders using screen or foil print cannot be rushed.
RETURN, REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES POLICY
If there are any problems with your order, the items must be returned to Cards of Wood for our review before we are able to refund or re-do the order. Merchandise that has been used, or altered will not be accepted for return, refund or exchange. Orders will not be accepted for return after a period of 30 days from time of shipment. Returns or exchanges for any of the reasons related to natural occurrences and/or stated in the previous sections of this terms and conditions are null and void. We will give special attention to any returned orders to be sure the problem is rectified in a fair and speedy manner.
You will not be responsible for any restocking fees, but you still will have to pay for all shipping costs to return and exchange your item.
